Singapore, June 2009. In July 2009, Marina Rinaldi will be opening its flagship store at ION Orchard, situated at the heart of Singapore’s busiest shopping street. Revealing a brand new store concept only seen in Singapore, the distinguishing trait that has Marina Rinaldi stand out from other stores is its contemporary design with the use of contrasts.

Located on the 3rd floor of the mall and occupying a total retail space of 1,498 square feet, the store front is a magnificent burnished curve that is made of anodized aluminum and has prominent vertical strips that irregularly divide the store front and an impressive lighting box. The highlights of the entrance area are the store windows with backlit screens that open up into the curved store front. Welcoming the customers is a large entrance area that connects to a “diagonal” runway which guides them along the long wall panel display. This main path then crosses an orthogonal “room” where the luminous hanging bars, made in steel and Plexiglas, characterise the surroundings.

Stepping into the store further elaborates the use of contrasts where the shiny surfaces seamlessly interact with the matt ones, sophisticated finishes with the natural ones, and whereby the use of traditional materials harmonises with a style of design that characterises the urban atmosphere.

The colours communicate by attracting, and at the same time, creating contrasts with one another: the cold greys with the whites, the powder pink of the spatula finished wall, with the intense wisteria colour of the smooth velvet sofa. The traditional Italian handicraft is also clearly visible in the Canaletto walnut wood furniture, which accentuates and warms the interior, contrasting with the mirror finish steel of the hanging bars.

The new Marina Rinaldi store boldly reflects the brand philosophy of catering to the every aspect of a woman, who wants to follow her most varied needs, from outerwear to accessories, from elegant evening wear to leisure and casual wear.
