zouk presents Wardrobe 2010

Zouk Wardrobe The Series shouldn't come as a stranger to those in the local fashion scene. Held and developed by Zouk for the past 11 years, it aims to aid local designers in showcasing thier works and provide fresh new faces with a platform to get discovered. This year's event presents two locally-acclaimed labels, bedlamite and aMuse. With wafts of white fabric casading haphazardly onto the glossy white runway, the haunting setting channeled an oddly enchanting mood, instilling truckloads of anticipation of what was to come.
A menswear label created by designer Terry Yeo of ForInsaneHuman, bedlamite veers away from the generic mass-produced apparel and provides fashion options to elevate your personal style without breaking your bank. Taking after the archaic term used to describe discharged inhabitants from the asylum in London, designs sent down the runway aptly carried elements of straitjackets while crochet scarves wound around the models' necks resembled bloodshed; such whildly original creations leave much to one's dark imagination.
Adorned on girls with sculptured faces glistened white, aMuse by Jennifer Yeo swept us into a hypnotic, psychedelic Wonderland World of fantasy frocks. This trippy adventure featured sweetheart neckline dresses with full skirts of ruffles and silhouettes that every woman in the world will clink their champagne glasses to - presenting a look that is seriously feminine yet cutting-edge, epitomising dramatic surreal creativity at its very finest.
